I was born in a bandit camp, under the sign of the Rat. Through unexpected paths and kindness I was able to find my true calling as an artist, my scrolls are much desired by collectors.

You noticed the lute I carry as well, yes I do play but more as a pleasurable pastime. Growing up I always loved that song “The Red Bridge”, you must have heard it. It is a duet about separated lovers wishing to be reunited at their meeting spot once again. When wandering it is rare to find another singer so I make do with less sentimental pieces.

Possessions

Bow and arrows, paintbrushes, biwa

Notes

I chose to add my bonus 5% to the Water sign, as the character enjoys wandering.

The Bandit Camp origin would probably be better as a general “On the road” origin as having 10% of characters born in various bandit camps is certainly evocative of a social situation but is probably not what is intended for the situation.

The song prompt related to my instrument curio initially didn’t inspire me, a few days later I liked the idea of a forlorn love song and one that required someone else to perform it appropriately which would be a reason to interact with others.

I’m not sure how someone who grew up with outlaws ended up being an artist but I guess sometimes the point of random generation is to create challenging narrative beats.

I certainly felt I could play the character but they don’t have a strong call to adventure as a result of generation or even much incentive to investigate things and get into trouble.

The zodiac signs are a nice touch but you do need to hit Wikipedia to understand what kind of traits are associated with them.
