Vaults of Vaarn
Vaults of Vaarn is inspired by Knave with lots of tables for creating characters quickly.
Plutarch
Plutarch is one of the New Beasts, a NeoMole with smokey velvet fur dressed in elegant chains of gold and silver embellished with beautifully cut (if not particularly rare) stones. He wears the stylised mask of a ancient knight but the elongated nose of the mask (comfortable though it may be) ruins any pretence of the possibility of a human wearing it.
Plutarch’s unusual skills as an interrogator (or as others whisper, a torturer) are highly sought after. His natural gifts combined with the fated discovery of an agoniser pin means that few can resist his questioning. The fact that his methods leave no physical trauma on those questions allow his employers to justify their inquiries as humane.

Notes
I’m going to admit that this moleman wasn’t really grabbing me until I rolled the Venomous Crossbow. That was then followed by the Agoniser and Paralysing Touch. This streak of things with quite malicious possibilities changed my conception of what the character might be about. The lack of armour helped seal the deal.
Rolling stats also felt quite underwhelming since a 6, 6, 1 combination is a sigh of disappointment.
