Fighting Fantasy
Originally used for the popular series of gamebooks the system was extracted into a version suitable for group play and was revised in the Advanced Fighting Fantasy rules.
Characteristics
Characters are defined by three stats: Skill, Stamina and Luck.
Luck is reduced one point when it is tested against.
Provisions (food) heal Stamina damage
Differences in the Advanced rules
The advanced rules include rules for skills and casting of magical spells. The base rules have all tests done against Skill or otherwise require the GM to set the chance of success on a d6. In the base game rules the Characters can use magical items that are created by facilitator (one-shot items like potions or scrolls or permanent magical items such as weapons and armour.
In the advanced rules rather than doing fixed damage (of two points a hit) a die roll is compared to a table to determine the damage done. This differentiates weapons but allows for a lot of flexibility in how much damage a given weapon type is likely to do.
